Cripple Creek & Divide
The historic town of Cripple Creek, Colorado sits on the southwest slopes of majestic Pikes Peak in the Colorado Rockies. More than 100 years ago, this charming community attracted tens of thousands of gold-seekers to its hillsides in search of their fortunes. Today Cripple Creek is home to several museums and a number of casinos. Outdoor enthusiasts enjoy the hiking and biking trails, as well as the close proximity to a number of popular winter ski resorts. Homes in this area vary from turn of the century cottages to modern homes with spacious floor plans.
The tiny town of Divide has just 127 full time residents and is nestled high above the clouds in the Rocky Mountains. While the town itself is rather small, with just a handful of restaurants and other businesses, the surrounding area is absolutely breath-taking. Placid lakes, thick forest, large expanses of pasture land and over a million acres of Pikes Peak National Forest make Divide one of the most beautiful places in Southern Colorado. Summer visitors enjoy hiking and biking trails, fishing at several area lakes and rivers, camping and rock climbing. Winter has a lot to offer tourists as well with easy access to several large ski resorts, ice fishing, snow shoeing and snow mobile trails. Nearby Woodland Park offers easy access to shopping, restaurants and entertainment.
